Richmond Printmakers is a co-operative of professional artists based in and around Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey. Founded in 1991 the group aims to preserve and promote the traditions of printmaking, whilst also exploring new and experimental approaches. Printmaking takes many forms from delicate etching to the more robust collagraph and lino cut. The images produced often incorporate several printing techniques which combine to make complex work. The subject matters range from landscapes to figurative and abstract pieces, reflecting the many viewpoints of the printmakers whose work will be on show at Adam’s Gallery at the end of this month.

Adam’s Gallery is launching an open call out for their new exhibition opening at the end of October.
There are no restrictions on subject matter. The call out is for wall-hung 2D work only. Any medium. The only restriction is size: A maximum of 60cm in either direction. We look forward to receiving your submissions.

Abundance
An exhibition of floral painting by Sheila Penrose Wells
Part of the Surrey Artists Open Studios
October 1st - October 24th 2021
Sheila makes large, exuberant, floral works painted in acrylic. The work is semi-abstract with more of a suggestion of a scene rather than being botanically accurate, although the plants are always of a realistic size. Sheila starts with a large brush and uses expressive marks. Flower shapes begin to emerge which she then develops using finer brushwork.
Sheila was born in Swansea, South Wales and trained in textile design at Reigate School of Art 1979. She has been working at Reigate Art Studios since 2012

The Genesis. An exhibition of twenty selected artists who have worked out of Reigate Art Studios over the past 18 years.
Friday 6th November - Thursday December 24th.
The Genesis. An exhibition of Reigate Art Studios now and then, opening on Friday November 6th. For our opening show weekend you will be able to walk through the gallery and visit the studios behind. The studios have been in existence since 2002 and over the years many artists have worked out of them. This exhibition brings together a collection of 20 of these artists’ works from 2002 to the present day. Click here for more info
