Vanessa Wagstaff
After graduating from The Slade School of Fine Art, with a H.Dip in Fine Art Degree in theatre design, Vanessa spent a long career as a book seller, author, photographer and designer. She co-produced a highly successful Agatha Christie Companion in 2004 with Aurum Press. Since 2006 she has frequently explored her passion for oil, pastel and watercolour painting of interiors, architecture and more recently landscapes.
As an artist living in the Surrey Hills, Vanessa is near to the openness of the North Downs and Ashdown Forest, Sussex, with their fine views, and surrounded by beautiful mixed woodland. These landscapes and trees are the main source of her inspiration. She responds to her subjects by making many drawings, studies and works from life and emotional memory.
