Sheilagh Noble

After graduating from Goldsmiths College, London, with a BA Degree in Fine Art Painting, Sheilagh spent a long career as a book designer and visualizer for international publisher Dorling Kindersley, and later worked as a book illustrator and an animator in film animation. She returned to her roots in oil painting in 2009.

As an artist living in the Surrey Hills, Sheilagh is near to the openness of the North Downs with their fine views, and surrounded by beautiful mixed woodland. These landscapes and trees are the main source of her inspiration. She responds to her subjects by simplifying down to the essentials: the colours, pattern and rhythms, to achieve a semi-abstract image.
